Role Summary: As a Tactical Communications Specialist at BJU Press, the ideal candidate will play a supporting role on the Educational Technology Development team by coordinating with Ed Tech management, assisting writing teams’ Ed Tech specialists, and developing clear departmental communications to ensure consistent delivery of educational technology content to relevant BJU Press products.

About the Team: The Educational Technology team aims to enable educators and students through innovative technology solutions that enhance learning, foster digital literacy, and prepare students for future success. The Educational Technology Development team supports BJU Press's mission by integrating technology into content development and providing digital content via user-friendly platforms.
Role Summary: The Tactical Communications Specialist will coordinate with Ed Tech management, support writing teams’ Ed Tech specialists, develop departmental communications, and contribute to projects and content publication within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Ed Tech content departments to ensure content meets specifications.
- Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide guidance and support to team members facing challenges.
- Train team members for effective task completion.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Stay updated on educational technologies and apply knowledge to team goals.
- Publish a monthly Ed Tech newsletter for Educational Content and the Executive team.
- Contribute to additional departmental projects.
Skills And Attributes Needed To Succeed In This Role
- Ability to collaborate with team members and managers.
- Working knowledge of educational technology.
- Understanding of BJU Press educational philosophy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot educational technology issues.
- Self-motivated with a focus on process improvement.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5 years of experience.
- Teaching experience in a K-12 setting.
- Broad knowledge of educational technology.
An applicant must be a born-again Christian, affirm the BJU creed, mission, and core biblical doctrines, and support a conservative lifestyle aligned with the university's positions. Active membership in a Bible-believing church is required. Commitment to providing a biblically worldview-based education is essential.
