Specialist, Social Media Content Creator

Location: San Diego, California
Job Type: Contract
Compensation Range: $35 - 37 per hour
We're looking for a creative, self-motivated Content creator with a passion for producing engaging video and static content for social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in front of and behind the camera, has strong graphic design skills, and stays ahead of online trends. A deep love for the food and snacking industry, Gen-Z culture, and gaming audiences is essential, along with a drive to experiment with fresh, engaging creative strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Social Listening & Trendspotting - Monitor social media platforms to identify trends and opportunities that enhance brand engagement and relevance.
- Creative Ideation & Pitching - Develop and present unique concepts for static designs and lo-fi lifestyle video content that align with the brand's overall strategy.
- End-to-End Content Production - Design, produce, edit, and write copy for all content across TikTok and Instagram.
- On-Camera Performance - Step in as on-camera talent when needed, bringing energy and authenticity to brand content.
- Performance Analysis & Optimization - Track content performance and apply insights to refine strategies that increase engagement, reach, and followers.
- Stay Ahead of Trends - Keep up with evolving short-form content trends, formats, and best practices to maintain audience engagement.
- Cross-Team Collaboration - Work closely with the Community Manager and brand team to execute social-first strategies effectively.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in content creation or social media management for a brand or organization.
- Experience working with baby, kids, or family brands and the ability to engage empathetically with parents.
- Strong graphic design and content creation skills that align with brand strategy and voice.
- Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and the broader social media landscape.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva Pro, InShot, and CapCut, along with video editing expertise.
- Ability to interpret data and insights to inform content strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using social listening and publishing tools.
- Prior experience working with large brands and partner agencies.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva Pro, InShot, and CapCut, along with video editing expertise.
- Ability to interpret data and insights to inform content strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
