Overview
The Camera Operator position is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining studio cameras: pedestal, jib, and, if trained, Steadicam.
Stadium is an interactive sports network based in Chicago's United Center, providing live sports content and engaging digital media experiences for fans nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate pedestal and jib studio cameras for live sports programming in-studio and on location.
- Apply technical skills in camera operation, including framing and movement, to support creative content strategies.
- Collaborate with producers and directors to execute programming plans.
- Train and operate Steadicam, when qualified.
- Assist with other studio production tasks such as microphone placement, lighting cues, and talent management.
- Fill in for roles like GFX Operator, A1, A2, AD, or TD when trained.
- Maintain equipment and participate in meetings.
- Uphold professionalism and foster a positive team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in live studio production preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Understanding of studio production processes required.
- Quick thinking and effective communication skills required.
- Availability for nights, weekends,, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment managing multiple tasks.
- Experience with studio lighting and newsroom systems like INEWS is a plus.
- Knowledge of sports is beneficial.
