The Content and PR Specialist will be a client-facing team member responsible for executing high-quality public relations strategies, writing compelling content, and creating meaningful relationships with clients, media, and influencers. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who excels in communication, project management, and strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Client Interaction:
- Serve as a client-facing representative alongside the Account Executive, providing updates, sharing opportunities, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Lead story-mining sessions and conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) to uncover compelling narratives.
- Represent the agency and advocate for clients during media interviews, podcast recordings, speaking engagements, and other PR-related events.
Media and Community Relations:
- Plan, execute, and manage PR campaigns, including community relations and earned media strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets. Create and update client media lists utilizing PR software.
- Create and distribute press releases, media pitches, contributed articles, and interview talking points.
- Actively monitor source alerts, secure media opportunities, and coordinate interviews for B2B and B2C accounts.
- Create and monitor media dashboards for coverage and create coverage reports for clients.
Influencer and Trend Management:
- Research and manage influencer campaigns in collaboration with social and media teams.
- Identify trends for assigned clients and translate insights into actionable opportunities.
- Share the latest PR trends and client success stories with the agency.
- Monitor media in client industries for opportunities.
Content Strategy and Development:
- Develop high-quality short-form and long-form content aligned with client strategy, brand goals and voice.
- Apply SEO best practices to content creation and provide strategic recommendations in collaboration with digital marketing team.
- Develop social content to amplify PR placements and integrate efforts across the PESO model.
Role Competencies
- Budget and Time Management: Plan, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently while adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Communication: Adapt messaging to audiences, simplify complex ideas, and present with clarity and confidence.
- Strategic Thinking: Analyze information, align tasks with agency goals, and develop innovative solutions.
- Collaboration: Lead projects, manage stakeholders, and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Execution: Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and deliver high-quality results aligned with strategic objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in PR, content development, or related roles.
- Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio of PR and content work.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with clients, media, and influencers.
- Familiarity with PR software, SEO, analytics tools, and content management systems.
