Playlogic Entertainment Inc. is an independent publisher of entertainment software for consoles, PCs, handhelds, mobile devices, and other digital media. Playlogic publishes various genres of games developed throughout the world and also has an in-house production facility. The Company distributes its products worldwide through all available channels, online and offline.
At the in-house studio: Playlogic Game Factory in Breda (the Netherlands), one of the most modern and advanced contemporary development studios, a team of approx. 60 people develop a number of titles on several platforms. During the past two years, Playlogic Game Factory has been working on its own IPs, like Fairytale Fights and as a first-party contractor for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) (Eyepet and PomPom Party).
For our Studio in Breda (NL) we are currently looking for a Lead Animator
The Lead Animator is responsible for setting up and improving the animation department within our studio. He/she is able to set a benchmark and train the animators to reach this goal.
For our games, the Lead Animator is responsible for setting the style and quality of the animation and making sure these are realized on time and within budget. Based on technical insight, the Lead Animator is able to balance quality and performance.
In general, there will be a 50/50% ratio between managing duties and hands-on participation in animation design and production.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- You have the ability and drive to lead a team of animators.
- You have the ability to pass knowledge of animation to the team.
- You have a strong understanding of motion, weight, emotion, acting, timing, and staging.
- You are responsible for timely production of animation assets.
- You are responsible for the quality of produced animation assets.
- You are responsible for coordinating all contacts with the animation outsourcing companies.
- You are responsible for setting up, maintaining, and improving the animation department within the studio.
- You act as a benchmark for the in-house animation team.
Qualifications:
- You are a team player.
- You are a proactive communicator.
- Fluent English; both written and verbal.
Experience:
- You have worked 3 years as Animator in Game and/or Movie industry with 1 year in a Lead or Senior Position.
Skills/Knowledge:
- You have extensive experience with animating in 3D software.
- You are comfortable with a wide range of animation styles.
- You are able to develop and improve yourself.
