Description
Clearance Required:
- Top Secret - Only fully adjudicated clearances are acceptable. Interim clearances will not be accepted.

We are looking to add experienced Policy Researcher/Writer to our team who have previous experience working in the 1102 Contracting Series. As a Policy Researcher/Writer, you will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and interpreting policies and their impact on stakeholders at a major agency in the Intelligence Community. Your role will involve drafting recommendations that will lead to improving and creating policies.
Key to Success: You need to know existing contracting and procurement policies and understand their impact. You need to possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills that will empower and enable your ability to research and analyze data and present complex information, both verbal and written, clearly and concisely.
Work Environment
You will be part of a small team of contracting and procurement professionals. You will work independently and in a team setting. Possibility for a hybrid schedule.
Position Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct research on policies and their impact.
- Analyze data related to policies and their impact.
- Develop policy recommendations and present them to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with different stakeholders to develop policies that align with their needs.
- Significant knowledge of DoD contracting procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DoD Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Experience with a range of contracting methodologies and types.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Research and data analysis skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to research, teach, mentor, and foster lessons learned and good acquisition practices with stakeholders at all levels, ranging from senior-level personnel to developing contracting specialists.
- Proven ability to assist with strategic-level issues, agile acquisition policies and procedures, and acquisition planning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience as a Contracting Officer with the US Intelligence Community (IC) strongly preferred. Candidates with relevant DoD experience will also be considered.
- Bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, political science, or another related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on contracting experience.
- DAWIA Contracting Professional (or equivalent).
