Job Description:
Budget Title: Instructional Support Associate (SL-2)
Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 (commensurate with experience)
Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for visual media? Binghamton University's Office of Media and Public Relations is looking for a forward-thinking Multimedia Producer to bring the University's stories to life through compelling video, photography, and multimedia projects.
This role blends creative vision and technical skill to elevate Binghamton's brand and showcase the extraordinary students, faculty, staff, and initiatives that define a premier public university. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated media professional who can create content from concept to final product, delivering impactful videos that resonate with internal and external audiences.
The Multimedia Producer reports to the Senior Director of Media and Public Relations and works closely with colleagues in University Communications and content creators across the campus community.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with media relations staff to establish and maintain a cohesive visual identity across all multimedia content.
- Produce engaging video and multimedia projects that support strategic goals in areas such as enrollment, research, advancement, and reputation.
- Scout and develop story ideas, identify emerging trends, and work collaboratively with fellow video producers and student creators.
- Edit video content using industry-standard tools, ensuring quality and consistency across platforms.
- Produce short-form video content optimized for social platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts to boost visibility and audience engagement.
- Create compelling video ads tailored for digital marketing campaigns, supporting key initiatives such as student recruitment and brand awareness.
- Partner with the digital advertising team to deliver platform-specific creative assets that align with targeting and messaging strategies.
- Stay current with social media trends and best practices to ensure Binghamton's visual storytelling remains fresh, relevant, and effective.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 2 years of media strategy and content production experience, relevant to the knowledge, skills, and abilities referenced above
- Experience with social media listening tools and reputation management practices
- Experience creating material for different audiences while maintaining a unified voice
- Experience writing, proofreading, and editing
- Organizational skills and an attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently across organizational lines
- Commitment to professionalism and meeting deadlines
Preferred:
- Experience in higher education
