A dynamic and growing women's advanced contemporary brand is looking for an Assistant Knitwear Designer to join their team in Los Angeles. This role will provide key support to the Senior Knitwear Designer and the Design Director across both daily tasks and seasonal design projects. The Assistant Knitwear Designer will assist in research, refine sketches using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely completion of projects. Staying up-to-date with sales data and emerging trends is essential to this role. Experience with PLM systems is a plus, and familiarity with Bluecherry is also a strong advantage.
This is an in-office, full-time position.REQUIREMENTS- 1-3+ years of experience in women's design, specifically in cut & sew and knitwear/sweaters.
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- Strong hand sketching skills, as well as proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience creating tech packs and working with Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Familiarity with contemporary and/or luxury women's fashion trends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of PLM systems and Bluecherry is a plus.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photo
