Overview
Blumen is building the operating system to power the next decade of American Infrastructure. A year from founding, we work with some of the largest renewable power, data centers, telecom, and utilities in the world. Join us in unblocking the next $2T of power, connectivity, and critical infrastructure with world class software.
What we're looking for
As a Product Designer you will work directly with the Head of Product and own the customer platform, company website, and marketing materials. You will have the opportunity to be a critical contributor to a first-of-its-kind system enabling the energy transition at scale and solve challenging UX/UI problems in the process.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end design. You'll help define early product concepts, flesh out the high-level workflow and micro-interactions of a feature, and execute on a crisp and effective visual design. Wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and high fidelity prototypes
- Rapid prototyping. Ability to move quickly from lo-fi to high-fi and back again. Ideally, we test every assumption and only build a subset of our designs. Great prototypes will drive product discovery.
- Engineering partner. Work closely with product and forward deployed engineers to ensure designs seamlessly integrate with our engineering process.
- 3-7 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design. Knowledge of Figma and user experience analytics software.
- Deep empathy for users and a passion for creating delightful experiences for non-technical stakeholders.
- Flexible and iterative
- Systems thinker with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Personable and excited to work closely with customers in natural resources industries
- Previous design experience with enterprise software that incorporates mapping functionality
- Demonstrated interest in energy development, land use, mineral exploration or similar topics
- Past experience with government data sources (BLM, EPA, USFS, DOE, NOAA, BOEM, etc.)
- Taste for adventure
- Opportunity to own the product design as our first full-time designer
- Unlimited PTO and 11 paid holidays
- Full health coverage (medical, dental, and vision)
- Daily office provided lunches and dinners
- Remote/hybrid-friendly work environment
- Paid parental leave
- 24/7 office access at our beautiful Jackson Square, San Francisco
- Put yourself in the customer's shoes. We care deeply about serving our customers above all else.
- No job is too small. Details matter, even if nobody will ever see them.
- Every problem is an opportunity. Any solution that is clever, difficult to reproduce, or takes serious guts is an opportunity to widen our moat.
- Own the problem. Not your solution. Best idea wins.
- It doesn't get easier. We just get faster. There is no finish line. Every day is a step toward compounding success. This is a marathon toward excellence.
