Overview
Develop and execute comprehensive media strategies, including but not limited to retail-specific recommendations, aligned with business objectives.Collaborate with internal teams to define target audiences, messaging, and recommended media channels; for select commerce clients, the focus will be specific to retail environments (both onsite and offsite) but may include strategies that integrate brand and performance efforts as well for an omnichannel presence.Optimize media budgets, esp. on CPG retail campaigns, to maximize ROI and/or ROAS.For retail specific accounts, you will play key role in strategic JBP discussions, annual negotiations and agreements.Create and execute a vision for how the team leads commerce clients in the retail media space from strategy through to excellence in execution.Media Execution
Oversee the implementation of media campaigns across various channels, esp. retail platforms for commerce brands (e.g., retailer websites, mobile apps, in-store displays, offsite display opportunities, sponsored content).Partner with department leads to create net-new operations for growing retail media practice.Ensure timely and accurate execution of media plans and ongoing optimization recommendations.Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed.Partnership Management
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external media partners, agencies, and vendors.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with media partners.Retail specific: collaborate closely with retail customers and business units to align retail media efforts with overall marketing initiatives.Thought Leadership and Industry Trends
Stay abreast of media industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies, esp. the retail space.Deliver perspective and thought leadership within the organization and externally.Provide insights on how media can drive brand awareness, sales, and customer engagement.Contribute to agency’s POV and capabilities around commerce media.Analytics and Reporting
Partner with the agency’s media analytics team to utilize data and analytics tools to measure media campaign effectiveness and create media performance reports and insights to stakeholders.Requirements/Skills:
5-7 years agency, retail or brand side experience building media strategies and tactical plans across onsite and offsite search and display tactics.Experience working within an integrated media team across digital and traditional media; experience managing a team of 2+ media professionals is a plus.Demonstrated ability to execute high-impact marketing campaigns that exceed client KPI’s.Full funnel media planning experience taking into account several ad formats, audiences, and seasonal periods.Familiarity with both brand and performance media KPIs, esp. with an eye towards key retail metrics.Able to consistently produce results while meeting deadlines and juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge and expertise of ad serving and tracking platforms such as Google Campaign Manager.Strong PowerPoint skills required as well as demonstrated ability to create client ready presentations.Proficiency in Excel and experience working with an advanced analytics team preferred.BA/BS in marketing communications or related field.Proficiency in overseeing the management & success of a large client portfolio.Preferred Skills:
Experience with retail media networks of all sizes and has planned and led a team in execution is preferred; knowledge of retail media advertising sponsored ads and DSP platforms is desired.Strong familiarity with the digital environment and a clear understanding of media planning and buying process (multi-channel knowledge and Criteo, Target, Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, etc. search experience preferred).Experience working with Vendor & Seller Central, Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) and 3rd party bid management platforms such as Skai or Pacvue is a plus.Comprehensive understanding of the retail industry.Knowledge of comScore, Ad Intel and Simmons as well as other media planning and competitive tools a plus.Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day client planning teams to develop media strategy and plans against client objectives, ensuring client satisfaction and business growth.Manage a team of media supervisors, media planners and media coordinators within AMP’s Media Team.Oversee development of media strategies and plans for assigned books of business; create and deliver large-scale, data-driven strategies for clients.Oversee development of RFPs, selection of media partners and project manage initiatives within the media plans.Present client presentations and serve as a day-to-day media contact for assigned clients; build strong client relationships and understand their business goals.Work with key client contacts on deliverables and timelines to ensure internal team is set up for success.Partner with Media Leadership on planning updates and team management.Partner with analytics on insights generation for campaign performance, ensuring agency story-telling aligns with client’s business KPIs.Create professional client-facing documents highlighting clear and actionable performance insights.Verify all planning materials such as flowcharts and digital schedules are up to date prior to submission to Media Leadership and Clients.Work with internal programmatic team to develop applicable audience and data strategies.Sign-off on workflow processes for campaign launch, reporting, optimization and financial reconciliation.Work with internal finance team on invoice reconciliation processes, ensuring key timelines are being met.Lead communication with external agency partners of our clients, ensuring creative and media strategies are integrated.Work with internal planning team to develop custom, bespoke partnerships with media partners.Collaborate with Business Development to create innovative strategies for prospective clients.Align with leaders across the business to create best practices, develop processes, and promote knowledge-sharing.Mentor and educate junior staff to enhance platform expertise, client performance, and individual's ongoing personal development.About AMP Agency
