About the role :
Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven software (SW) engineer to join our Electrical Process Development team. Work with innovative products that sustain and improve the lives of patients around the world. Join a fast-growing and talented team, as we develop software solutions to support data analysis, data management, and data migration. The successful candidate will participate in software development, verification, and validation in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Software development for medical devices requires rigor and attention to detail to meet industry and regulatory standards. We're looking for a motivated and creative SW engineer with a focus on quality who has experience with requirements-based software methodologies.
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a fully-onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office 5 days per week.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Participate in the development, testing, verification, and validation of software solutions
- Design test scenarios following design and requirement documents to ensure intended behavior is verified
- Collaborate with SW developers, system engineers, design assurance, project management, and other Quality team members to identify, report, and troubleshoot defects in a detailed, efficient, and timely manner
- Conduct and participate in code reviews that ensure quality of product by following procedures and regulations in test development and execution
- Participate in SW test automation framework and tools development
- Create project documentation per Quality system requirements
- Use issue tracking tools, software version control tools, and requirement management tools in day-to-day work
- Coordinate and collaborate with global team members
- Continuously improve process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers / cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes
- Develop and follow functional best practices
- Direct support personnel and project activities
- Mentor junior engineers in software testing activities / methodologies and domain knowledge
Required qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience with a Master's degree
- Experience with software development, verification, and validation
- Experience in Java and LabVIEW
- Effective communicator and writer
- Proven technical leadership
Preferred qualifications :
- Experience in Python, C#, and C++
- Experience with Windows Operating System
- Experience in using Jira or other development tools
- Previous experience in medical device or other regulated industry
- Good working knowledge of enterprise databases and cloud computing principles

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
