Overview
Bowhead is actively recruiting for a Public Relations Specialist to provide multimedia support for a proposal effort in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities
Track, consolidate, and document completion status of required data calls, requests for information, and multimedia presentations for public affairs initiatives and requirements to disseminate relevant information to internal and external audiences, including subordinate organizations, external support organizations, families, reserve personnel, media representatives, other military organizations, the general public, etc. Provide strategic communications recommendation, to develop an increased awareness of LCSRON 1’s key messages to internal and external target audiences through use of official media releases, social media postings, cultivation of outreach program opportunities, and various staff presentations. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline – such as Audiovisual Communications, Journalism, Photojournalism, Mass Communications, Multimedia Management – from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of professional experience in a relevant field of mass communications/journalism. A mix of military experience in an Enlisted Surface Warfare rating of Mass Communications Specialist, OR as a Commissioned Officer in the Public Affairs, OR relevant DoD government experience is preferred. Two (2) years experience developing communications process productivity tools. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Experience within the last five (5) years developing or producing metrics tools and reports.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level at the time of award. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Where driving may be required or where a rental car must be obtained for business travel purposes, applicants must have a valid driver license for this position and will be subject to verification. In addition, the applicant must pass an in-house, online, driving course to be authorized to drive for company purposes.
