Description Of Work
Create, produce, write, and edit complex and in-depth multi-platform enterprise news stories in the Omaha Metro area for publication on Nebraska Public Media’s Omaha-focused digital news and culture sites, “The Reader” and its Spanish language counterpart, “El-Perico” and on the station’s broadcast platforms. Utilize strong writing and original storytelling skills and organizational skills. Is encouraged to propose, produce, write, and present regional and national projects. Mentor reporters and student workers.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, or related field and five years of news reporting experience as an enterprise or investigative journalist; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience originating, developing, writing, and producing in-depth and complex news content. Strong interpersonal, reporting and researching skills necessary. Familiarity with filing public records requests. Knowledge of news reporting, copywriting, editing, and current events. Demonstrated computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
On-air reporting experience, production experience and/or knowledge in news production preferred. Familiarity with public record databases. Experience writing for multiple platforms (print, broadcast, digital). Experience with digital photography. Digital editing, on-air broadcast presentation skills, ability to conduct background and broadcast interviews, producing, and investigative reporting skills. Familiarity with podcasting helpful. Familiarity with public records databases.
Posted Salary $60,000/yr. minimum
