As an early member of the new initiative start-up team, the
PR Director
will have the unique opportunity to set, build and drive the strategy behind the brand’s robust global communications program, including business and consumer press, special events, a highly recognized social responsibility program and brand partnership initiatives that drive demand creation, earned media value and cultural relevance for the brand. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic PR roadmap, leveraging all channels of media to support fashion, brand, and business stories. They will bring strong, influential relationships across the editorial community to maximize coverage and build significant brand buzz. They will be creative in their approach, developing pitches, stories, and angles that cut through, while leveraging a variety of mediums ranging from press releases and interviews to special events and conferences. In tandem with more traditional press outreach, the
PR Director
will be responsible for concepting events that attract and generate buzz on both a national and local level. They will also bring a strong background in strategically establishing, building, and driving a brand’s philanthropic program, including setting strategy and creating alliances with notable charity partners that support the brand’s positioning, while building positive sentiment and creating meaningful impact. The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial, highly creative, highly organized, goal-oriented approach and will thrive working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. This position will report to the
VP, Celebrity Strategy & Partnerships . What You Will Do Lead public relations strategy to generate exposure in mainstream media, including global, national, and local outlets, targeting business and consumer press across all channels. Drive business press for the brand in partnership with the company’s corporate communications team; develop the strategy and pitch and secure robust, opportunistic media stories that highlight business growth, retail expansion, product category expansion, technology advances, major brand collaborations & stories, and other notable brand moments. Develop a portfolio of conferences, speaking engagements, and other opportunities to showcase the brand's thought leadership, leveraging brand executives to tell a variety of stories and bring positive attention to the brand. Leverage strong press, industry, and community relationships to drive the brand’s press strategy; connect the brand to important media and influential partners that lead to positive, buzz-building stories and unique brand collaborations. Direct, write and edit press releases that result in significant press pickup; develop speaking points for press interviews to prepare executives and talent while maximizing media opportunity. Drive the brand’s philanthropy program, identifying new opportunities and charitable partnerships that support the brand’s mission while maximizing impact; manage all proactive and reactive charitable campaigns. Proactively research community, donation, and/or non-profit opportunities, to support new campaigns and unforeseen issues, ensuring positive brand sentiment. Partner with cross-functional Marketing, Acquisition, Social Media, Creative, Retail, Merchandising, Design, and Strategy teams to build a full 360 approach for new product launches & brand initiatives. Develop and execute seasonal and monthly fashion pitches aligned with pre-determined product stories that build heightened buzz around new collections, new collaborations, and hero item stories year-over-year. Keep a pulse on evolving industry trends; leverage the digital landscape to test and maximize direct response editorial content, driving a clear ROI. Develop innovative publicity approaches, angles, and stories that positively impact SEO and SEM. Facilitate high-impact editor testimonials for use in marketing channels. Support internal and external teams on crisis management strategy and communications guidance as needed. What You Can Bring A strong leader with proven success in consumer/fashion PR, corporate communications Bachelor’s Degree, with 8+ years of public relations experience, preferably in the fashion industry, with strength in consumer relations and a strong understanding of fashion e-commerce businesses. Proven experience in driving significant PR results through securing extensive media coverage, producing high-caliber events, and bringing to life meaningful philanthropic campaigns. Experience working both in-house and on the agency side in the fashion/beauty industry. Strong industry relationships with editors, reporters, celebrity publicists/management, and synergistic brands. Proven success in conceptualizing, developing, and implementing new, innovative ideas that drive impactful results. A highly collaborative leader and team player with a proven track record in effectively leading, directing, and managing teams and agencies while promoting strategic and creative thinking and inspiring others. A sense of enthusiasm, passion, and commitment to continually bring a fresh perspective to the team, our customer, and our PR campaigns and initiatives. Ability to set up efficient and effective processes and manage and meet tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strength in writing top-notch press releases and brand stories. A solid understanding of digital media, e-commerce, and direct response marketing. An ROI-driven approach, ensuring every project is measured for effectiveness and hind-sighted to drive future strategies. Ability to coordinate and communicate with many stakeholders while driving momentum. Must be comfortable in a high-pressure, fast-paced business environment, be a driven contributor and work effectively and collaboratively across teams. The range provided includes the base salary that Fabletics expects to pay for the role. Offered base salary will be dependent on factors including the scope and complexity of the role, candidate’s related work experience, subject matter expertise and work location.
