Job Purpose:
The Desktop Publisher is responsible for preparing customer-supplied material using desktop publishing software to design, layout, and produce print-ready PDFs. This includes laying out pages, adding graphics and images, and ensuring consistency across all printed materials. The Desktop Publisher serves as a technical resource to provide product solutions that meet customer needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with various desktop publishing software to design, layout, and produce print-ready PDFs.
- Check preliminary and final proofs for errors and make necessary corrections.
- Communicate with the Project Manager to:
- Ensure that changes in project specifications are clearly understood.
- Provide suggestions, when appropriate, on ways to enhance the customer’s project.
- Meet productivity standards and continuously strive to increase productivity.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Work with outside vendors to complete projects on time.
- Hold self-accountable for identifying areas of improvement and develop action plans.
- Seek opportunities to learn new ideas on how to improve skills and performance.
- Look for opportunities to apply learned skills.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
- Proficient in MS-Word, MS-Excel, Acrobat, Outlook, and Windows operating systems.
- Proficient in graphic/photo editing software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Experience managing multiple projects while making quick decisions through troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technology.
- Ability to self-teach.
- Collaborative.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with both Windows and MAC environments.
- Experience with cross-media products, digital and print.
- Experience with planning and/or designing web-based projects or print.
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, plug-ins, and batch processes.
- Ability to learn new software quickly and self-teach.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
