Job Duties and Responsibilities: Review and develop recommendations for drafting milestone decision documentation and materiel release documentation for ACAT I, II, and III programs. Plan, schedule, and manage attainment of materiel release and milestone decisions for program and product Offices. Conduct programmatic risk analysis and identify any high risks to schedule. Plan and conduct documentation reviews with the PM and PM level staffs. Documents are to be staffed in the Global Electronic Approval Routing System (GEARS) or equivalent tool. Perform weekly status updates and documentation reviews.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Associate degree and 5+ years of experience with military operations and acquisitions management, Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience with military operations and acquisitions management, or 10+ years of experience with military operations and acquisitions management in lieu of a degree. 3+ years of experience with applying analytic techniques in the evaluation of acquisitions compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Technical writing, and the ability to edit complex technical documents and ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements. Technical writing and review are the most important items for this position.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with applying analytic techniques in the evaluation of acquisitions compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. 2+ years of experience with applying the Department of Defense instruction (DoDI) 5000.02 for acquisitions milestone documentation and document staffing processes. Associate's degree and 10+ years of experience with military operations and acquisitions management, Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience with military operations and acquisitions management, or 15+ years of experience with military operations and acquisitions management in lieu of a degree. Familiarity with DoDI 5000.02, but training will be provided as needed. Experience with Simplified Acquisitions, Mid-Tier Acquisitions, and Other Transactional Agreements. Experience with document staffing tools and data management software applications. Knowledge of acquisitions life cycle and application of cost, schedule, and performance metrics for tracking health of complex acquisitions programs. Ability to collect and interpret data relating to weapon systems acquisition and to recommend best practices and solutions to reduce program risk.
