Resident Artist - Trombone

The Music Department is hiring a Resident Artist (part-time/hourly) to teach Trombone and coach chamber music. A specialist is needed for this position, to teach private lessons and a studio class to students whose major instrument is trombone. This instrument is involved in most department ensembles and, therefore, this position plays a vital role in all department activities. Chamber music coaching would be dependent on the needs of the department in any given semester, but it is a requirement for our NASM Accreditation to have chamber music opportunities for our students.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Teach weekly private lessons to trombone students (60%)
- Teach a weekly studio class to trombone students (20%)
- Coach chamber music ensembles as needed (10%)
- Actively recruit prospective trombone students to the UNH Music Department (10%)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with experience as a trombone performer
- Studio teaching experience on trombone
- Skill as a trombone performer
- Demonstrated ability as a teacher of trombone
