This role includes patient care, education, and potentially participating in research projects. Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Registered Polysomnographic Technician to join our team. This position involves providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care, and education. You may also participate in research projects and unique laboratory procedures as directed by the Manager and/or Medical Director of the sleep center. This role requires independent operation of advanced medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology, recognize sleep pathology, and implement appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety and proper treatment. Knowledge of normal cardiorespiratory, neurological, and sleep physiology, as well as Basic Life Support certification, is essential. You must be capable of performing special procedures such as Multiple Sleep Latency testing, infant/pediatric polysomnography, ambulatory monitoring, and patient education. Responsibilities
Operate independently according to Sleep Disorders Center guidelines Interact effectively with patients, coworkers, Supervisor/Manager, and Medical Director Take vital signs Proficient in sleep staging/respiratory scoring Detect high-risk ventricular arrhythmias Attend yearly EKG basic arrhythmia update courses Proficient in measuring, fitting, and titrating CPAP and Bi-level therapy to standards Understand and follow TriHealth Policy & Procedures and the appropriate chain of command Requirements
High School Degree Graduate of a program leading to an Associate's Degree, or a program of no less than 1 year long, or equivalent experience Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) Certifications such as RPSGT, R-EEGT, RRT, or CRT-SDS Working Conditions
