Advertised Job Summary:The Department of English at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in British literature and culture of the long nineteenth century. The position offers opportunities for connection and continuity with other areas of strength in the department, including nineteenth-century American literature and twentieth- and twenty-first century global and postcolonial literature. But this is an open search; we are more interested in identifying the most exciting and exceptional scholarship than we are in any particular subfield or area of specialization. The teaching load is 2/2. A Ph.D. in a relevant field must be in hand by August 16, 2025, the starting date for the position.
