About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Philanthropy and Public Relations to spearhead its philanthropic and fund development initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the agency's efforts in securing foundation, grant, and charitable contributions to support its mission. This role involves managing the organization's public image through strategic communication and media relations, and acting as a key liaison between the agency and its external stakeholders. The Executive Director will also oversee a team of 6 staff and volunteers, and work closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors to maximize funding and public relations potential. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include developing and implementing visionary strategies for philanthropy and public relations, mentoring staff and volunteers, and fostering leadership in fund development and advocacy. The role requires a high level of competency in fundraising, including the development of long-standing donor relationships and support for planned giving. The ideal candidate will be a natural relationship builder, with the ability to create strong connections in the community and with both new and existing donors. Additionally, the Executive Director will be expected to provide expertise in media relations, crisis management, and social media management, and ensure that the organization's public relations efforts promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
