The Studio Technician is responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the school’s ceramics studios and equipment. They serve as a resource to technicians, faculty, staff, and students regarding the use of ceramic equipment and facilities.

Maryland Nonprofits, through Baltimore Clayworks, is Maryland's only 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to ceramic arts, providing programs in education, exhibitions, community arts, and artist residencies. Reporting:
Reports to the Executive Director.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee maintenance of kilns, studio, and equipment.
- Enforce facility access policies.
- Initiate and coordinate kiln firings.
- Train students in kiln safety and operation.
- Schedule maintenance and ensure studio cleanliness.
- Maintain inventories and order supplies.
- Promote safety and proper handling of materials.
- Supervise staff including maintenance and custodial teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with exhibitions, organize workshops, recruit volunteers, maintain inventory of tools and clay, and perform other duties as assigned. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups is essential.
Salary and Benefits:
This full-time, salaried position offers a salary range of $47,500 - $56,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, a 403(b) plan, PTO, and more.
Qualifications:
Master’s in Fine Arts with at least 3 years of firing experience. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work with chemicals and solvents safely.
