Description
Program Overview The Alfred Williams & Company Design Immersion Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial design and workplace solutions. This paid part-time internship is designed for individuals passionate about design, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to real-world projects.This internship provides a robust platform for aspiring designers to develop professionally while contributing to meaningful projects. Join us and immerse yourself in a world of creativity, collaboration, and innovation! Learning Objectives Understanding the history of commercial design and workplace evolution. Familiarity with AWC's mission, values, and commercial furniture specifications. Acquiring knowledge of interior design best practices and creative solution development. Gaining insights into professional firm practices and processes.
Key Responsibilities Participate in creative solution development and product specification. Assist with acquiring samples, finishes, and rough budgeting. Contribute to test-fits, space plans, pre-proposal meetings, and presentations. Create renderings, visuals, and presentation materials. Shadow installation days and participate in site visits before, during, and after project completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and project management.
Qualifications Intern Candidate Requirements Enrollment in an accredited interior design program or equivalent education. Strong design and creative capabilities with a passion for applying the design process. Self-motivated with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Cover letter and portfolio are required for consideration in this program.
