Role Description
As the Chief Organizational Communication Officer, reporting to the Chief Communication and External Affairs Officer, you will lead communication efforts across our expansive seven-state PSJH health system. Your role demands innovation to deliver cohesive, strategic, and impactful communication internally and externally, enhancing our reputation in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide executive leadership through complex communication initiatives with strategic insight.
- Shape annual communication strategies and budgets with the leadership team, ensuring resource optimization.
- Drive multifaceted campaigns including storytelling, caregiver engagement, public relations, and reputation management.
- Translate system and division goals into effective communication and marketing plans.
- Collaborate with marketing to align communication and marketing efforts.
- Manage relationships with agency partners and technology collaborators to bolster the Providence brand.
- Develop communication channels and platforms that effectively convey leadership messages.
- Lead national PR efforts and cultivate media relationships.
- Establish thought leadership platforms for Providence executives.
- Partner with government affairs for legislative advocacy communication.
- Coordinate stakeholder and community engagement strategies.
- Oversee internal communication, public relations, advocacy, and team leadership.
- Manage the Providence TV studio and champion new initiatives like health equity and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Marketing, Journalism, or related fields; Master’s preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in communications or marketing, with leadership exposure.
- Proven strategic, crisis communication, and relationship management skills.
- Creative, innovative, and collaborative mindset.
- Ability to translate strategic goals into effective communication strategies.
