Responsibilities of the Emergency Communications Specialist:
- Receive clinical information from healthcare providers effectively.
- Identify and triage referrals for critically ill and injured patients.
- Document relevant information accurately in hospital databases.
- Participate in departmental committees, attend regular meetings, and engage in ongoing education, along with other administrative duties as needed.
- Handle multiple crises simultaneously while maintaining composure and efficiency.
- Work a 36-hour rotating schedule including days, nights, and weekends.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of administrative experience with a high level of accountability is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology gained through work experience or training.
- Flexible schedule, ability to take direction from various sources, and excellent customer service and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Dispatch operations and/or EMT experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in hospital or healthcare triage is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Note: Sign-on bonus of $2,500 is available for candidates who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.
