Position Summary
The Department of Art at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in Studio Art, two-dimensional media. MSU Denver is NASAD accredited and offers study in interdisciplinary artistic practices as well as media-specific coursework. The successful candidate will be interested in teaching classes that contribute to the contemporary focus of our Studio Art program.

MSU Denver enrolls over 16,000 students, nearly 60% of whom are first generation, and over 55% are students of color. Responsibilities
- Teach one to three classes in studio foundations, drawing, painting, printmaking, or other media as appropriate. Classes may be offered in person, remote, or hybrid.
- Deliver course content, prepare materials, grade student work, provide timely feedback, and address student questions in accordance with university policies.
- Maintain office hours and comply with university policies on student evaluation and peer observation.
Required Qualifications
- BA in Art
- Three years of professional and/or teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- BA in Art with significant recognition and three years of experience, or MA/MFA in Art with relevant experience.
- Experience working with and sensitivity to diverse urban student populations, including students of color, LGBTQIA students, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non-traditional students, student veterans, and English language learners.
Terms of Employment
Part-time, at-will employment on a per credit hour basis, usually semester-by-semester. Not eligible for benefits. Teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Candidates will be expected to teach in person upon hire.
