The City of Northfield is recruiting for a part-time Library Clerk I - Bilingual.
As champions of lifelong learning, libraries are a place where all are welcome to quench curiosity, access technology, and explore new ideas, hobbies, and careers. As a member of our circulation team, you are often the first to greet a visitor, forming their most lasting impression of the library. This position ensures that the entire community feels welcome and knows where they can go for assistance. The Library Clerk I—Bilingual provides excellent customer service at the library's downtown location, as well as the Library Oasis, assisting visitors with checking materials in and managing their accounts, registering new library cards, assisting with library equipment operation, and notifying patrons of material availability. This position may also assist with programs, translation of publicity materials, outreach activities, notary service, shelving materials, book displays or other similar duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma;
- One year progressively responsible library circulation experience; Or
- Any combination of education and/or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education
- Library certification
HOURS OF WORK:
20-29 hours per week. Shifts vary in length and includes days, evenings and/or weekends to provide appropriate coverage.
