The Corona-Norco Unified School District is the largest school district in Riverside County and the seventh-largest district in California. Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Experience: Appropriate experience necessary to all aspects of the position, including demonstrated success working with interdepartmental and public agencies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Under the direction and general supervision of the Chief of Communications, Executive Services. 2. Manages the district’s public relations and communication efforts. 3. Manages the district’s use of web-based communication strategies. 4. Assists with management of the department budget. 5. Supervises and trains assigned staff. 6. Coordinates communication efforts for district-wide initiatives. 7. Coordinates communication efforts with CNUSD stakeholders as it relates to LCAP programs. 8. Initiates and coordinates media coverage and is available to the press during office hours and on call at other times. 9. Manages training support staff. 10. Manages technical support staff. 11. Develops and promotes interest among groups supportive of the district’s education objectives to expand upon the organization’s positive reputation. 12. Acts as a liaison between site and/or district administrators in gathering and sharing factual information with the media and public-at-large. 13. Seeks out and cultivates news and information resources for the development of positive stories. 14. Represents the district at community events. 15. Analyzes communication analytics, develops reports, and makes recommendations. 16. Write/edit press releases and other content for publication in web-based and print media. 17. Oversees the district’s social media program. 18. Collaborates with other departments, schools, and governmental entities. 19. Assists in interpreting, analyzing, and summarizing ongoing legislative developments. 20. Provides graphic design technical assistance in the development of materials with marketing potential. 21. Provides technical assistance for school sites’ public relations efforts. 22. Implements appropriate aspects of the district’s strategic plan. 23. Leads the integration of artificial intelligence into communication strategies, ensuring alignment with industry standards. 24. Conducts evaluations for Communications staff. 25. Leads the Communications team with a commitment to innovation, best practices, and strategic leadership, fostering a culture of creativity, adaptability, and engagement. 26. Assists departments in crisis communication.
ADJUNCT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain positive staff relations. 2. Participate in professional growth activities. 3. Keep informed on current trends in education and public relations. 4. Develop materials to implement programs. 5. Serve as a liaison in the district.
