METI is seeking an experienced Photographer to support our contract with the Weapons Survivability Laboratory (WSL) and will be responsible for capturing high-quality still images and video footage in support of the WSL contract. Using standard cameras, lighting equipment, and related techniques, the Photographer will document subjects such as personnel, equipment, and operational activities while addressing challenges related to motion, color contrast, and lighting. This role requires technical skill in determining appropriate camera settings, exposure times, and lighting adjustments to achieve the desired results. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Duties:
- Capture still images using standard cameras and lighting techniques, ensuring proper exposure, contrast, and composition.
- Determine appropriate shutter speeds, lens settings, filters, and camera angles based on the subject and environment.
- Use video and high-speed video cameras to record simple motion shots, such as moving equipment or personnel at work.
- Adjust lighting arrangements to enhance clarity and balance exposure, correcting for distortion when necessary.
- Work efficiently in situations where retakes are not possible, ensuring high-quality results on the first attempt.
- Consult with supervisors or senior photographers when anticipating technical challenges.
- Maintain and operate photographic and video equipment, ensuring proper care and calibration.
- Organize and archive photographs and video footage for documentation and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in photography, including still photography, video recording, and lighting techniques.
- Proficiency in camera settings, exposure control, and image composition.
- Ability to work under time constraints and capture high-quality images without opportunities for retakes.
- Familiarity with high-speed video equipment and motion capture techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to different lighting and environmental conditions.
- Experience in photographing technical subjects, such as equipment and operational activities, is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and follow technical guidelines.
