Overview
The Color Designer works directly with the Art Leads and Art Director to conduct exploratory color schemes, provide texture reference for the cg texture artist and ensure consistency on color models and assets in relation to backgrounds / sets throughout the series.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with and receive feedback from the Art Director and other Creative Supervisors
- Review relevant production materials such as storyboards and production designs to ensure continuity of color key models
- Complete assignments on or before the production deadline to ensure shipping materials are prepared and ready for production
- Attend daily and weekly status meetings to discuss progress and any problems that arise
- Keen eye for detail and quality to ensure the style of the show is achieved
- Knowledge of current tech/software used in production for color - such as a Cintiq and Photoshop
- Be available to fulfill all color projects - including but not limited to - 2D color models and color paint over 3D models, color and texture callouts, character poses/expressions, special poses, size comps, props, and effects as it pertains to each episode
- Ensure all artwork is properly backed up, stored appropriately, and all shipping materials are prepared and ready on time
- Communicate and work closely with Digital Paint and Design team
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must demonstrate proficiency in style of show with a solid knowledge of color theory and lighting
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn applicable and new color software and hardware
- BA in Art / Visual Development / Animation / related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a high pressure, fast-paced production environment
- Good time management skills; good multi-tasker
- Experience in a CG production environment
- Illustration or traditional art skills a plus
- Experienced in the creation of detailed style guides and be comfortable dealing with internal and external departments daily
- Broad knowledge of artistic styles, trends, latest technology, and film
The anticipated base salary for this position is $44.88/hour to $73.54/hour. This role qualifies for benefits pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors
