Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Data Science - GIS (Geographic Information Systems) will play a key role in developing and implementing data-driven geospatial strategies to support the Real Estate team’s business objectives. This role requires expertise in GIS, spatial analytics, and automation techniques to drive innovation, enhance decision-making, and provide actionable insights. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build predictive models, optimize site selection, and deliver high-impact geospatial solutions.
What You’ll Do
Geospatial Analytics & Technical Problem-Solving
- Participate in GIS and geospatial analytics initiatives, leveraging automation and advanced spatial modeling.
- Develop and implement geospatial data strategies that align with business goals.
- Analyze complex problems, challenge assumptions, and identify root causes using spatial data science techniques.
- Recommend and implement technology solutions to enhance GIS capabilities.
- Define key performance metrics and quantify the business impact of geospatial initiatives.
Data Acquisition & Management
- Identify and integrate geospatial data sources to support real estate and business intelligence needs.
- Expertise in Esri ArcGIS Pro, SQL, and other geospatial tools to manage and analyze spatial datasets.
- Perform spatial data processing and validation for accurate decision-making.
Business & Real Estate Insights
- Support real estate portfolio management with geospatial analytics and location intelligence.
- Apply GIS methodologies for site selection, market research, and trade area analysis.
- Collaborate across departments (product, finance, marketing, sales, technology) to translate business requirements into geospatial projects and solutions.
- Evaluate business cases and develop data-driven recommendations for site expansion, relocation, and optimization.
GIS Strategy & Innovation
- Drive enterprise GIS strategy, ensuring scalability, accessibility, and integration with business intelligence systems.
- Optimize geospatial data ecosystems, emphasizing data management, quality, governance, and storage.
- Influence data strategy across business functions, implementing innovative GIS applications and dashboards.
- Develop interactive spatial tools, predictive models, and advanced mapping solutions to enhance business decision-making.
Development
- Analyze business objectives and customer needs to develop GIS solutions that drive strategic growth.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ethics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external partnerships to advance geospatial capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
- Expertise in Geospatial Data Science, including statistical modeling, spatial analysis, machine learning, and AI-driven GIS applications.
- Proven ability to develop, manage, and implement high-impact GIS projects that drive business transformation.
- Experience integrating GIS with business intelligence (BI) tools, real-time tracking systems, and enterprise databases.
- Strong technical acumen in geospatial data management, including big data processing, and cloud-based GIS solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex spatial insights to non-technical stakeholders and influence strategic decision-making.
While not required, the ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Esri Business Analyst – Market research, trade area modeling, and site selection.
- Experience Builder – Development of interactive geospatial applications.
- ArcGIS Dashboards – Real-time tracking and visualization of key performance indicators.
- ArcGIS Pro – Advanced spatial analytics, geoprocessing, and mapping.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field.
- MMasters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
- 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
Preferred Qualifications

- Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics.

- Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch).
