Manages Communications Center operations (public safety communications (911), information's technology initiatives and telecommunications initiatives; manages from an administrative level fiscal, maintenance, personnel and operational functions; evaluates program effectiveness and makes necessary changes to ensure quality and reliability of services; plans telephone, radio system and CAD systems requirements to meet defined current and future needsAssists with planning and monitoring of fiscal activities; assists with developing budget; approves expenditures; assists with negotiating contracts; advises personnel regarding bids for communication equipment, etc.Meets with and maintains contact with public safety agencies that interact with the Communications Center to determine needs of service (e.g. plans hardware design and personnel; determines cost effectiveness; evaluates existing systems/services; coordinates and implements new services or enhances existing services; advises and provides information pertaining to current technology, programming issues and expansion of services; coordinates programs).Conducts and attends meetings; serves on committees', disseminates information; keeps abreast of current technology; anticipates technological needs in rapidly changing field. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.Performs special projects as assigned.
