POSITION TITLE: Creative and Content Manager

BACKGROUND
Jewish Federation of San Diego (JFSD) is looking for a mid-level marketing professional and copywriter to serve as Creative and Content Manager in support of the organization’s marketing efforts.
For more than 85 years, Federation has worked to create a vibrant, caring, connected, and enduring Jewish Community by strengthening Jewish identity, caring for Jews in need, and fostering deep connections with Israel and Jews around the world. POSITION SUMMARY
The Creative and Content Manager is a dynamic role, combining creative storytelling, strategic content creation, and social media expertise to elevate our organization’s presence and impact. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Marketing & PR, this position is responsible for developing compelling written and visual content across various platforms for the organization and its programs, ensuring alignment with our mission and branding guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Content Creation:
- Write and edit engaging content for websites, blogs, articles, emails, and other communications.
- Develop content that resonates with diverse audiences and supports organizational goals.
- Graphic Design:
- Create visually appealing designs for campaigns, events, and digital communications using Canva.
- Ensure all design work aligns with brand standards.
- Social Media Management:
- Develop and execute a social media strategy to grow engagement and followers.
- Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize results.
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing & PR to align content strategies with broader marketing goals.
- Partner with other departments to support content needs for campaigns, events, and initiatives.
- Brand Stewardship:
- Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity across all materials and channels.
- Develop templates, as needed, to support all JFSD branding efforts, including all media channels, recruiting, and internal and external communications.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
- 3+ years’ professional experience in marketing, content creation, copywriting, social media management, or graphic design.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in Canva and a strong eye for design.
- Experience managing social media platforms and using analytics tools to measure performance.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms and content management systems preferred. Experience with Salesforce and HubSpot are a bonus.
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and design.
- Strong understanding of Jewish culture, traditions, and values highly preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for working in a mission-driven environment.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND EQUIPMENT

This position is required to work onsite (with the ability to work from home on most Fridays).
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time position, working onsite in San Diego, CA, with the ability to work from home on most Fridays.
Compensation range: $70,000 – $85,000 per year, with a generous benefits plan, retirement plan and comprehensive paid sick leave, vacation, and 22 paid holidays per year.
