Purpose of the Role:
The role of the Radio Engineer, reporting to the Technical Director, is to maximize the operational efficiency of the Arrow McLaren team. Seamless voice communication is critical for the performance of our IndyCar Team. The radio engineer is responsible for all RF and VoIP equipment and operation. This includes initial configuration, performance optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Principal Accountabilities:
Configuration and maintenance of Voice-over-IP intercomProgramming voice radios, specifically in the UHF analog spectrumCar radio equipment installationTiming stand radio hardware configurationAncillary component maintenance - headsets, cabling, driver helmet microphone, earpieces, etc.Antenna performance monitoring and optimizationKnowledge, Skills and Experience:
Associates degree in an engineering fieldExperience with analog VHF or UHF radiosKnowledge of and/or experience with VoIP hardwareAbility to perform hands-on work, including wiring loom installation and cable terminationUnderstanding of RF antenna theoryAbility to troubleshoot and thrive in a high pressure environmentTotal Rewards:
