UX Research Scientist, Audio Responsibilities
Plan and execute UX-focused scientific research to shape audio-centric experiences and their user interactions, guiding the direction of new AR and AI audio technology research and products, and evaluating how those solutions meet the needs of future users. Work with research scientists, designers, proto-typers, engineers and product managers to identify research questions that can yield actionable insights and shift research and development directions of the team. Develop novel UX metrics and research methods for field-leading technical and scientific research programs. Drive prototype design to ensure high-quality execution of qualitative research methods, demographic sampling, and study communication. Communicate research insights with teams and cross-functional partners by proactively identifying opportunities to share and influence, using a diverse set of communication channels. Work with research leads to develop strategies to inform and evaluate new AR and AI audio technology development from a UX perspective. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. PhD degree or equivalent experience in Psychology, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors or a related field. 3+ years of experience in conducting UX-focused research on consumer technology hardware and software interactions in an industry setting. Experience in qualitative and quantitative user-centered research methods (e.g., experimental design, inferential statistics, experience sampling method analysis, MaxDiff, etc.). Experience in owning the full end-to-end research process of planning, recruiting, executing/facilitating, analyzing, and reporting the insights. Experience in working in a cross-functional work environment collaborating closely with designers, engineers, product managers or other interdisciplinary partners. Experience with rigorous scientific research, including development of metrics for psychophysical and empirical behavioral measurements. Preferred Qualifications
Experience planning and executing UX research for a consumer audio product from conception to shipping. Experience conducting and advocating for UX research science in an early-state research environment. Experience conducting UX research science for transfer of research technology to product development in an industry setting. Familiarity with AR, MR, and LLMs platforms as UX research science. Highly curious, adaptable, tenacious, and resilient.

$147,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
