Trine University is seeking qualified and dynamic adjunct instructors to teach onlineundergraduate courses in English and Communications. The ideal candidate will havea strong academic background, a passion for student learning, and the ability to deliverengaging instruction for online classes.
The Adjunct Faculty Role
The University’s mission is to promote intellectual and personal development throughpersonally focused learning opportunities, preparing students to succeed, lead andserve. Our faculty are responsible for ensuring students are successful in the onlineclassroom and are prepared for the complexities of today’s workplace.
It is expected that adjunct faculty will:
- Actively engage students through frequent interaction and convey a genuine enthusiasmfor their learning.
- Provide thorough and constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics to effectively assesslearners’ work, while also acknowledging learner accomplishments.
- Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise and help students connectconcepts across their academic program.
- Work effectively with the TrineOnline team to seek continuous improvement for allTrineOnline courses and programs.
Adjunct Faculty Training
All new faculty teaching online are required to successfully complete onboarding trainingas a condition of hire.
Required Education
- Master’s degree in English, Communications, or a closely related field is required
- College-level teaching experience preferred
- Familiarity with online learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) is aplus
Salary is is based upon the number of credit hours taught and the number of studentsregistered for the class being taught.
Adjunct faculty candidates are required to provide official transcripts during thecandidate selection process.
