Halff has an opening for a Transportation Leader to fill our Director of Transportation (P.E.) position at one of our Halff office locations in the Florida panhandle (Tallahassee, Chipley, Panama City Beach, Crestview). This is a strategic leadership position to expand our transportation practice in FDOT's District 3. The ideal candidate will bring experience working with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in District 3 and surrounding districts. The candidate will have civil engineering experience with a focus on transportation design and project management in the consulting industry and/or experience working with, or for, public sector clients. This position offers a leadership position with excellent career development opportunities for someone wanting to grow with Halff. Director of Transportation (P.E.) Responsibilities: Manage and grow a production team, strengthen client relationships, lead project pursuits, and lead the delivery of transportation design projects. Manage personnel, budgets, schedules, sub consultants, and client interaction. Work closely with the area Operations Manager and Transportation Practice Leader in business development activities. Director of Transportation (P.E.) Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree. A minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation project delivery. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) experience (as an FDOT employee or consultant). Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Florida. Ability to lead a project and supervise technical staff in FDOT project delivery. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity, and success. Experience with Florida area toll authorities is a plus.
