SIGNING BONUS
Seeking certified court reporters to join our team in Pinal County
You must be certified as a Court Reporter: to be hired in this position.
CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY:
Performs complex work of considerable difficulty in the verbatim stenographic recording and transcribing of court and legal proceedings to document and produce verbatim records of verbal and nonverbal activities.

The Superior Court in Pinal County values your experience. We review every candidate for a salary offer that is both equitable and applicable to the position range. Based upon your direct experience and background, a salary offer will likely be presented to you up to the midpoint of range.

BONUS ELIGIBILITY:
If successfully hired as a certified court reporter, you will be eligible for a signing bonus totaling $5,000 to be paid in installments:
- $3,000 upon successful completion of initial probationary period
- $2,000 upon 2 years of continued service as a certified court reporter
Example of Duties
Work in this classification requires an individual to be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Records all court proceedings verbatim by use of specialized equipment
- Catalogs and files stenographic notes and transcripts
- Prepares and certifies transcripts
- Reads back testimony from stenographic notes as requested
- Replies to correspondence relating to transcripts of proceedings
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High School diploma, or equivalent G.E.D. certificate; and
- Two (2) years of professional experience as a court reporter; OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.
Certification requirement for employment:
Must be certified by the Arizona Supreme Court pursuant to ARS 32-4021 at time of application.
Continued employment requirements:
Court Reporter certification must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements:
Independent body mobility to stand, walk, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time and drive a vehicle. Manual dexterity to reach and grasp; manual dexterity to hand-write or use computer keyboard; vision sufficient to see/read; hear and speak to communicate with customers in person and over the phone. May be exposed to potential physical harm and/or infectious diseases. May be required to lift and/or carry heavy, bulky items, equipment, supplies and/or other materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Position is primarily located in an indoor office environment. May be required to perform reporter duties in other than indoor environments, as necessary. Will be required to drive throughout the County. May be subject to irregular work hours/schedules to include completion of work on holidays and weekends.

The Superior Court in Pinal County conducts an extensive background investigation of criminal history.
A criminal conviction does not constitute an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually and based on job requirements. However, felony convictions and some violent misdemeanor convictions may result in disqualification for employment with the Superior Court.
