Who we need:
The College of Arts & Letters' Office of Communications at the University of Notre Dame is seeking a versatile communicator to join its creative, intellectually curious, and collaborative team in the role of web and digital content strategist. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and assessing the success of content for websites, social media accounts, e-newsletters, and other platforms.
Job Description:
The web and digital content strategy professional is a conduit through which Arts & Letters' key messages reach audiences online, working to ensure that communications platforms have dynamic, up-to-date, and consistently evolving content that is well-presented, technically accurate, appeals to target audiences, and serves the strategy and tactics of the College's communication goals.
This is a full-time position based in South Bend, IN, that is currently on a hybrid schedule (1-2 remote days/week).Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the College's Director of Communications and Marketing, this position is responsible for:
Managing website redesign and upgrade projects, with a strong focus on the development of information architecture, for the primary College website and those of departments, centers, institutes, and special programs within the College.Establishing strategies and priorities for the development and enhancement of content on the Arts & Letters website and assisting with the day-to-day maintenance of the site, including revising pages, posting and importing news stories.Serving as the primary manager of the resources website for College faculty and staff.Collaborating with managers of college departments, centers, institutes, and programs to plan, create, and enhance their web presence, ensuring that industry best practices and University standards are followed.Serving as the point of contact for website managers on issues related to site design improvements, content creation, and technical troubleshooting.Collaborating with other A&L communications staff on developing social media strategy, including paid social posts, and assisting in the creation and posting of content across College platforms.Regularly reviewing, evaluating, and reporting on website and social media data to inform decision-making on future strategies and tactics.Assisting in the design and distribution of e-newsletters produced by the office on behalf of the College or departments.Supporting and advising A&L departments, centers, and special programs on social media and e-newsletter strategy and providing guidance on content creation, design, and industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major or clear interest in the liberal arts.3 years of experience in web and digital content creation.Knowledge of how to effectively use content management systems, e-newsletter tools, and social media platforms.Basic understanding of HTML.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience analyzing, planning, developing, maintaining, or upgrading websites, especially in creating information architecture.Proficiency on Apple platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms preferred.Experience with using Google Analytics for strategic decision-making regarding website structure and content.Client relationship and customer service skills, including the ability to work with diverse creative and technical teams and the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with a broad range of campus constituencies.Strong planning and organizational skills, including a keen attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple types of projects with varying deadlines.Ability to think abstractly and conceptually.Demonstrable interpersonal and presentation skills.Understanding of digital marketing principles through academic coursework or on-the-job experience.Experience developing paid social campaigns.Strong writing skills.Ability to be self-guided while also enjoying collaboration and teamwork.
