Job Title: Customs Brokerage Entry Writer
DB Group America is seeking a skilled Customs Brokerage Entry Writer for our Atlanta office. This in-office role involves managing shipment documentation, monitoring clearance statuses, and addressing escalations. Responsibilities include data entry for entry filing, product classification, ensuring compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze and validate import documentation and data to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations prior to submission to U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs).
- Enter required shipment and customs data into brokerage software.
- Communicate and respond promptly to U.S. Customs, PGAs, clients, coworkers, and supervisors. Review and monitor all Customs rejections.
- Prioritize work based on ETA, product service level, last free day, and transportation mode.
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively informing clients of shipment status under supervision.
- Classify entries according to client SOPs, Parts Database, or instructions from Licensed Customs Brokers/Classification Specialists.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, guidelines, work schedules, and attendance requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Organized, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of classification, FDA, and clearance-related requirements.
- 8-10 years of experience in Entry Writing.
- Experience in International Logistics, Cross-Border Transportation, and Supply Chain.
- Knowledge of US Customs rules and regulations, ability to interpret regulatory language, and troubleshoot basic Customs entry issues (ABI, ACE, AMS).
- Proficiency in computer applications; CargoWise experience is a plus.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Customs Brokerage License is an advantage.
