A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:
The Cybersecurity Technical Director is responsible for delivering technical quality and project profitability, implementing specialized laboratories for evaluations such as Common Criteria (CC), FIPS, IoT, and automotive security, and developing innovative tools to optimize technical processes. In addition, the position aims to understand market and client needs to design and deliver strategic services that enhance the company’s position as a leader in cybersecurity.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Leadership and Management
- Define and implement strategic goals aligned with organizational objectives
- Develop and execute executive-level policies and strategies
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members
- Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by facilitating training and supporting team members' technical skill development
Technical Expertise and Laboratory Management
- Establish and manage specialized laboratories for various evaluation scopes, including:
- Common Criteria (CC)
- Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)
- Internet of Things (IoT) security
- Automotive security
- Oversee the development and maintenance of test plan automation tools and other technical tasks
Stakeholder Management and Business Development
- Serve as a liaison between multidisciplinary business areas and stakeholders
- Identify and understand client needs to develop new services that meet market demands
- Manage budgets and communicate service benefits and performance
- Secure national and international accreditations to ensure service delivery
- Participate in industry working groups and represent the company and clients with key stakeholders, entities, and organizations
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field in cybersecurity required
- Minium of 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity, including 5 years in a cybersecurity leadership role
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity standards and certifications, including Common Criteria (CC), Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), Internet of Things (IoT) security, and Automotive security preferred
- Proven competency in problem management, including classification, prioritization, root cause analysis, and remediation
- Advanced skills in team leadership, budgeting, and resource optimization
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Customer service orientation, with a commitment to meeting customer needs and seeking feedback for continuous improvement
- Strong aptitude for teamwork and collaboration
- Goal-oriented mindset with a passion for learning in dynamic environments
- Determined and passionate approach to work with a keen eye for detail
Physical Considerations:
- Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion.
- Ability to lift 25-50lbs (luggage)
- Extended periods of computer-based work
Travel Considerations:
- Domestic and/or international travel; estimated 20%
What You’ll Receive for the Value You Bring:
Compensation:
DEKRA North America’s compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,900 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $171,600 annually in our highest geographic market. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
