We are currently seeking a
Senior/Principal Piping Designer
with ammonia experience, reporting directly to the hiring manager to join our client's piping team based in Houston, Texas, USA.

Summary: Piping design personnel for our diverse portfolio of energy transition, sustainable energy, technology, and petrochemical projects located in both domestic and international markets. Candidates must be proficient in the use of 3D CAD design software including Intergraph S3D for equipment and piping modeling as well as 2D layout software including AutoCad and MicroStation. Must also have experience in layout and design for ammonia plants. Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the project Piping Lead, successful candidates will develop equipment and piping design including equipment layout and nozzle where applicable using process information (PFD, P&ID) as the basis to support project deliverable requirements. Design activities cover all phases of project development including PDP, FEED, and Detail engineering. Duties include: Develop 2D plot plans using Microstation or AutoCad Equipment modeling Nozzle, ladder, and platform for towers and other vessels Pipe modeling Isometric extraction Work with other departments as well as disciplines to resolve design conflicts (e.g., pipe routing/support and or clashes with other model objects). Ensure review and check of engineering and design deliverables. Develop tie-point packages. Field walk-downs, supervision of tie-point identification and tagging. We would love to hear from you if you are a motivated, creative, quality-focused applicant with: 15 years piping layout and design experience including at least 5 years working on ammonia-related projects – preferably detail design Strong knowledge of Intergraph S3D (and PDS) Capable of conceptualizing and laying out complex plant equipment including compressors, reactors, etc. Knowledge and experience with nozzles, ladders, and platforms for towers and other equipment items. Ability to extract orthographics (plot plan, general arrangements) from 3D model Ability to work on own with minimum supervision Ability to conceptualize and develop layout from preliminary process data (P&ID and data sheets)
