We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Public Relations to lead our PR efforts.
Position Overview: As the Director of Public Relations, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic PR initiatives to enhance the visibility and reputation of Coles Marketing's clients. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our client's narrative, securing media coverage, and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies to promote our clients' brands.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, industry influencers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Lead the creation of compelling press releases, media pitches, thought leadership articles, and other written materials.
- Oversee media relations activities, including proactively pitching stories, managing press inquiries, and arranging media interviews.
- Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, award submissions, and other PR initiatives to showcase our agency's expertise and thought leadership.
- Collaborate with account teams to integrate PR efforts into overall client strategies and campaigns.
- Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities, assess risks, and adjust PR strategies as needed.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the agency and our clients, representing them in media interviews, speaking engagements, and other public forums.
- Manage crisis communications and develop strategies to protect and enhance our agency's reputation and that of our clients.
- Track and analyze PR metrics to measure the effectiveness of PR campaigns and initiatives, and provide regular reports to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on the advertising, marketing, or creative industries.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR campaigns that generate media coverage and drive brand awareness.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team of PR professionals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for storytelling and attention to detail.
- Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of media relations, social media, and digital PR trends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including clients, media contacts, and industry influencers.
- Experience managing crisis communications and navigating sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in PR measurement and analytics tools to track and report on the impact of PR efforts.
