A dynamic partner hospital is seeking a full-time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their compassionate and skilled team in Newport News, VA. This role offers the chance to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced urgent care environment, focusing solely on urgent care—no wellness services. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat urgent care cases, including illnesses, injuries, and other emergencies.
- Provide medical care, administer treatments, and prescribe medications.
- Perform necessary procedures and surgeries (excluding abdominal surgeries).
- Maintain thorough and organized patient records.
- Collaborate with a dedicated veterinary team to ensure optimal care for all patients.
- Communicate effectively with clients about diagnoses, treatment plans, and pet health.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program.
- Active veterinary license in good standing to practice in Virginia (or ability to obtain one).
- Experience in urgent care medicine is preferred but not required. Special consideration will be given to new graduates.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and the veterinary team.
- A commitment to high-quality care and a Fear Free approach to handling animals.
