Leidos is seeking a qualified candidate to join our DISA JSP ETM team as the Senior Telecom Network Engineer The successful candidate will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA. The Senior Telecom Network Engineer provides expert support to a Rapid Response Team responsible for quick responses and fixes for urgent issues, as identified.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and design of cable infrastructure systems that support the customer's strategic and operational
- Conduct comprehensive site visits for data collection and evaluation of telecommunications and building technologies systems, ensuring project scopes are well-defined and met.
- Maintain and manage inside plant cable infrastructure, including conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber optics, and all associated elements.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of EIPs for the installation of cable racks, wiring, and the necessary testing during installation.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that cable infrastructure designs meet all technical and regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert support to Rapid Response Team, supporting urgent, critical VIP/Government Officer (GO) requirements
- Manage network connectivity for all VIP/GO locations within JSP sites
- Manage network connectivity and transport across all classification levels
- Manage and perform installation, maintenance, and removal of all equipment in accordance with JSP-approved standards and architecture drawings, to include encryption devices, VoIP devices, and VoSIP devices, and auxiliary power equipment
- Manage and perform life-cycle maintenance for all transport devices and supporting equipment.
- Manage and perform patching and cabling for JSP devices in VIP/GO locations
- Support successful development and on-time delivery of customer deliverables
- Communicate with senior customer leadership; serve as POC for contract
- Regularly report to Leidos leadership on contract activities
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of RCDD experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience as senior or lead RCDD in planning, and designing cable infrastructure that supports the DoD environment
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer certification
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Experience conducting site visits to evaluate telecommunications and technology systems, equipment, components
- Strong teamwork skills that enable good working relationships with co-workers and customers
- Experience managing the development of multiple technical projects
- Experience maintaining Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and all associated elements.
- Experience developing EIPs required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.
- Must be current on codes and technologies appropriate to the telecommunications and building technologies design/construction industry
- Outstanding brownfield infrastructure design skills, with a strong analytical approach to problem-solving.
Pay Range: Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00
