Position Overview:
Deep Sync is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to drive the development of Deep Sync's foundational data solutions. In this role you will lead the foundational data engineering team at Deep Sync, overseeing the development of advertising technology services, ensuring efficiency and scalability of platforms, while maintaining alignment with business objectives. Collaborate with product stakeholders and partner teams to execute the product roadmap and provide hands-on guidance in system architecture and coding practices.
The Foundational team supports Deep Sync's mission critical data processing pipelines, where we ingest vast amounts of data from a large number of data sources, along with our own data to deliver our foundational data products offered to thousands of customers nationwide. The data products your team supports span nationwide consumer, business, student/young adult, new mover/new homeowner, and other data assets for use in analytics, sales, marketing and AI applications.
Key Responsibilities:
You will own the technical roadmap and be responsible for the development and operational execution of data pipelines and customer UIs in the advertising industry. You will create a working environment where top technical talent will thrive and you will lead your team to deliver a top-tier suite of products & services that will delight our customers. We are looking for a leader with strong technical acumen who can not only suggest new technologies but also enhance our current technology and raise the acumen of our technical staff. You will work closely with senior product owners and stakeholders to help execute the core product roadmap.

- Direct, guide and review the work of the foundational engineering team
- Work with fast-paced initiatives, overseeing projects from idea conception and strategy development to deployment, production, and operations
- Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of platforms
- Work closely with product stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into high-performance, scalable architectures and measurable outcomes
- Partner with Product Management to own the foundational engineering roadmap
- Partner internally, with our clients and your vendors to extend, maintain, scale the Deep Sync platform
- Partner with Project Management team members to produce project schedules and communicate progress
- Align software engineering practices and products with measurable business objectives
Must Have:
- Formal degree (BS or MS) in CS, Math or technical field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7+ years experience as a Software Engineering Manager, Technical Director or Director of Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years working in software engineering
- Strong knowledge of Agile project management principles and how it applies to software engineering practice from development to version control, code review, artifact creation, release management
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges coupled with a mastery of software development methodologies, agile practices, and project management principles
- Proven leadership and communication skills, experience managing and mentoring development teams and effectively collaborating across departments
- Experience with AWS cloud platform and modern engineering tools and practices
- Ability to represent your products internally with key stakeholders and externally with strategic partners and vendors
- Experiences building and managing customer facing user interface (UI) teams, ideally in the adSpace or dataspace
- Desire to thrive in a polyglot environment where your team members develop in a wide range of languages (.Net C#, FoxPro, PHP, Typescript Node)
- Knowledge of advertising technologies such as Data Management Platforms (DMPs), Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs), Supply-Side Platforms (SSPs), Ad Exchanges & Real Time Bidding (RTB)
- Strong leadership abilities, coupled with a passion for solving intricate technical challenges
- Desire to work in a big data environment where innovation and execution meet at scale
- Some product experience, working in a product organization, leading, mentoring or managing product managers along with engineers and product managers
- BONUS: Migration and Transformation experiences at scale
