Position Overview
Blue Eye is enhancing our AI-powered IoT security system to improve scalability, capabilities, and user experience. The UX Designer will be a vital member of our collaborative engineering team, working closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to design experiences that accelerate productivity and simplify complex tasks. This role demands a deep understanding of the operator and customer workflows to create intuitive, efficient interfaces and reporting tools that prioritize usability and performance over purely aesthetic appeal. Beauty in design is valued, but only when it enhances—never compromises—productivity and user experience.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product owners, and stakeholders to deeply understand the workflows and tasks within the IoT security system.
• Design interfaces and experiences that streamline operator tasks, enabling faster, simpler, and more intuitive interactions with AI-driven security tools.
• Create customer-facing reporting designs that prioritize productivity, delivering actionable insights with clarity and efficiency over decorative flair.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma, ensuring solutions enhance usability and task completion speed.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to identify friction points, iterating designs to optimize productivity and user satisfaction.
• Maintain and evolve a design system in Figma that supports efficient, consistent, and purpose-driven interfaces across the platform.
• Translate technical requirements and workflow needs into design specifications that balance simplicity, functionality, and visual polish.
• Participate in team discussions to align UX solutions with engineering constraints and productivity goals, ensuring designs empower users.
• Stay current with UX trends and tools, applying them to improve workflow efficiency and operator effectiveness above all else.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional UX design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating designs that enhance productivity and simplify complex workflows (e.g., dashboards, control systems).
• Demonstrated ability to understand technical workflows and design experiences that make work faster, simpler, and more intuitive, with 3+ years in productivity-focused UX roles.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma with 4+ years of hands-on experience, showcasing mastery in creating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems that prioritize usability.
• Proven expertise in crafting customer-facing reporting designs that optimize productivity and insight delivery, with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate seamlessly into a technical team, collaborating effectively with engineers and product owners to align designs with workflow needs.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, with 2+ years conducting usability testing to improve task efficiency.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field AND 5+ years of UX design experience OR equivalent experience (7+ years of UX design experience without a degree).
Additional / Preferred Qualifications:
• 7+ years of UX design experience, with a focus on IoT, security, or enterprise software systems.
• Experience designing productivity-driven interfaces for AI-driven applications or real-time data systems (2+ years preferred).
• Familiarity with video streaming interfaces or security operator workflows (2+ years preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including optimizing design systems for efficiency and collaboration (5+ years preferred).
• Background in front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to bridge design and implementation (1+ years preferred).
