JOB DESCRIPTION
The Weather Anchor is responsible for analyzing weather data, providing accurate current conditions, and forecasting in an engaging manner for broadcast and digital platforms.Key Responsibilities:Utilize weather equipment to craft and present weather segments.Communicate weather reports clearly with proper language and on-camera presence.Engage with audiences on social media and digital channels.Convey urgent weather updates effectively to the public.Stay up-to-date with the latest in weather technology.Collaborate with newsroom staff for content creation and participate proactively in a team setting.Qualifications:Proficiency in weather-related technology and newsroom operations.Skilled in delivering unscripted commentary and working under pressure.Strong journalistic ethics and effective communication skills.Ability to multitask and collaborate.Education & Experience:Preferred 5+ years as a weather anchor and a related bachelor's degree.AMS Seal or NWS certification is desirable, along with severe weather forecasting experience.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents.
