Overview
Highland Community College, located in the scenic northwest corner of Illinois, is seeking a Graphic Design Instructor for a full-time, tenure-track position starting Fall 2025. This role involves instruction and facilitation of student learning, contributing to the academic mission of the college, and fostering student success.
Key Responsibilities Teach up to 15 contact hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, covering courses such as, Drawing, 2D and 3D design, and other related subjects. Contribute toward student recruitment and retention. Assess student learning. Develop and update curriculum to ensure alignment with industry standards. Participate in committee work and division meetings. Continue professional growth by attending conferences and seminars, participating in professional organizations, and/or taking additional course work in major and related subjects. What We're Looking For
Education and Experience:
A Master's degree (or higher) in Graphic Design or closely related field (e.g., Interactive Multi Media or Graphic Communications) is required. A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in graphic design may be required based on the applicant's coursework and degree. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, both PC and Apple products. Aptitude in various emerging platforms, literacies, and skills required of a contemporary practice in visual communication is expected. Fine Arts and Media/Print experience is preferred. Previous teaching experience at the college level is preferred but not required. Why Join Highland Community College?

Salary Range:
