Job Description
The Design Production Manager plays a critical role in helping us maintain our reputation as a leader in the floral/service industry. The Design Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a creative and well rounded design team. This individual will manage day-to-day activities, provide training, guidance, and oversight for all departmental activities and staff. The Design Manager acts as a role model to drive employee performance and higher company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain/execute company visions at all times
- Ensure all line designers have the knowledge and materials to accomplish floral assignments
- Work closely with the Creative Director to train and educate line designers on menu items
- Communicates with the Creative Director and Flower Buyer with issues on menu items
- Monitor everyday production with the goal of improving efficiency and minimizing overtime
- Implements and manages a Quality Control Program
- Implement, review and improve all design policies, procedures and service standards
- Create work schedules for the Line Designers and Design Assistants
- Create & coordinate bonus, rewards and incentives
- Handle escalated customer complaints or issues (communicate and educate Line Designers if need be)
- Work with other departments leads concerning product or service issues
- Maintain up to date knowledge of POS (ensure all Line Designers have the necessary POS knowledge)
- Provides coaching and feedback, including formal corrective action
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews
- Maintain up to date standing account spreadsheet and distributes standings with the creative directors input
- Develop processes and procedures to reduce COGS including spot audits, reducing waste, recording waste, etc.
- Complete supply inventory counts on time and accurately
- Strong floral design background
