Job Summary The Designer [MNS-HUR] is responsible for working with the VP of Design and/or Design Directors in the design, creation and delivery of the Hurley Men’s products that supports strategic initiatives. This position will use exceptional design skills, knowledge of the current market and identifying trends to create innovative and commercially viable products from conception to production.
Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):
Responsible for designing, sketching and developing ideas for multiple collections in designated brand/product area. Research and identify emerging fashion trends and interpret those trends for each brand. Generate, updated and recolor seasonal CADS for designated brand/product area. Make Periodic updates to product line. Produce detailed tech packs and follow through the entire development of product from initial line to final pre-production samples. In-put Tech Packs & SMS comments into companywide ERP (Exenta) system. Daily follow up with factories on tech pack creation/revision/review and submit approvals. Review and approve labdips and strike off submits. Develop and maintain relations with sales, buying and production teams to ensure item suits customer, market and price points. Interact with sales team to discuss design ideas. Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations. Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, extensive knowledge of garment construction and 5-7 years of experience in Design, including but not limited to experience with menswear. Denim experience is a plus. Knowledge of fashion trends and general trends in color, fabric and style. High creativity and artistic abilities, an eye for color, texture and pattern with keen attention to detail and ability to visualize in three dimensions. Proficient computer skills to include Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop), Microsoft Office, and Acrobat Excellent written and verbal skills as required for effective interpersonal communication Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and workload seamlessly and follow-up. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team under critical time frames. Self driven and experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the company/department. This is an onsite position working daily in our New York Office.
This position is a full time position. The salary range for this position $70,000 - $95,000.
